On October 24th 2021, 4 YG members and 3
exchange students visited a roller-skating rink at Sinrimdong. 2 YG members and
the 3 exchange students met at the gate of Yonsei University and headed to
Sinrim riding the subway, while the other 2 members joined at Sinrim until 2:30pm.
After meeting up in front of the subway station, we took some time to introduce
ourselves. Then we headed straight to the skating rink.
We lent ourselves each a pair of roller-skates along with protection gear for safety. Firmly equipped, we left our luggage in the lockers and started right on with skating.
A lot of the YG and
exchange students skated amazingly as they spun rounds and rounds around the
wide rink. The skating rink was full of blaring K-Pop music with a wide range
from the early 2000’s up to the latest popular idol songs.
When the long
skating or the overheated skate rink tired us, we took short brakes at the
seats set up around the corners. There we not only rested our exhausted legs
but also exchanged short conversations, concerning topics such as our different
cultures, majors, favorite dramas or hobbies. We also took turns taking cool
videos of each other as the other spun around the corner and posed.
After skating until 5pm, we headed out for dinner. 33dang, a famous Korean BBQ restaurant at Sinrimdong, was our destination. We had a great satisfactory dinner. While eating we also enjoyed the longer conversations and thus got to know each other and the shared cultures better. It was a very exciting and meaningful experience that the program provided for all of us.
